Dr. Yash Desai founded Sapphire Periodontics & Implant Dentistry with one goal in mind: to create a periodontal practice where patients feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. Having trained at some of the most rigorous programs in the country, Dr. Desai brings a high standard of clinical excellence to every patient he sees in Plantation, FL.
From his early years as a general dentist in Central Florida to his advanced postgraduate residency in periodontics and dental implant surgery at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Desai has spent his career building the skills and knowledge to deliver lasting results. He takes a conservative, evidence-based approach to care, recommending only what is truly in your best interest.

Originally from India, Dr. Desai moved to the United States at age 15 to pursue higher education. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Florida and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Touro College of Dental Medicine in New York. After practicing as a general dentist in Central Florida, he returned to Nova Southeastern University to complete his postgraduate residency in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery.
Dr. Desai specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gum disease, dental implants, bone grafting, and advanced periodontal surgery. He is committed to evidence-based care and stays current with the latest techniques in periodontology through continuing education, local study clubs, and professional collaboration.
He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and Florida Association of Periodontists. Outside the practice, Dr. Desai enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife and their child born in November 2025. During college and dental school, he competed on Bhangra dance teams across the United States.
